Temple History

The Shri Ram Janaki Temple is a spiritual endeavor in progress—born from generations of devotion and guided by a shared commitment to cultural and religious heritage. Though still under construction, the temple has already become a symbol of unity and reverence for the local community and devotees

The Shri Ram Janaki Temple is being established by Mrs. Meeta Prasad Verma and Mr. Shashi Prasad Verma (Munnu Ji) in sacred memory of their late maternal grandmother Ramdulari Kunwar, late maternal grandfather Kalika Charan, late mother Urmila Devi, and late father Vishwanath Prasad Verma. The temple's inauguration is set for November 5, 2025, as a heartfelt offering for the wellbeing of the family of nine brothers and sisters and the world.

Over time, local saints, caretakers, and villagers have played a vital role in nurturing the sacredness of this land. Their efforts and the collective contributions of devotees continue to shape the evolving temple complex, blending tradition with hope for the future.

Even as construction continues, the temple is already drawing visitors, well wishers, and spiritual seekers, each contributing to a shared dream - a place of devotion, peace, and cultural pride that will serve generations to come.

Daily Rituals

Special Events

The Shri Ram Janaki Temple is not only a place of daily worship but also a vibrant center for celebrating major Hindu festivals with deep devotion, cultural richness, and community participation. Throughout the year, the temple becomes a focal point for spiritual gatherings, music, rituals, and joy, bringing together devotees from nearby villages and faraway regions.

Among all the festivals, Ram Navami and Janaki Navami hold a special place in the heart of the temple. Ram Navami, marking the birth of Lord Rama, is celebrated with grand bhajans, kirtans, and day-long pujas, culminating in a ceremonial procession and the distribution of prasad to thousands of devotees. Janaki Navami, the auspicious day commemorating the birth of Goddess Sita, is equally significant, with women leading special prayers and rituals honoring Janaki’s strength, virtue, and devotion.

Vivah Panchami, the divine wedding anniversary of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita, is one of the most majestic and emotionally powerful festivals observed here. The temple comes alive with colorful decorations, dramatic reenactments of the wedding ceremony, traditional Maithili songs, and folk performances that recount the sacred union. The event draws large crowds, turning the temple complex into a festive ground of devotion, music, and love.

Diwali, the festival of lights, is another key celebration that transforms the temple into a glowing haven of lamps (diyas), floral decorations, and sacred chants. Devotees gather to honor the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after his exile, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

Other festivals like Dussehra, Makar Sankranti, Chhath Puja, and Holi are also celebrated with community spirit, ensuring that the temple remains a lively cultural nucleus throughout the year.

These celebrations are more than just rituals—they are moments of collective faith, storytelling, and the reaffirmation of values that have guided devotees for generations. The temple's inclusive and vibrant festival culture continues to attract pilgrims, families, and cultural enthusiasts alike.

Management and Administration

The Shri Ram Janaki Temple is lovingly maintained and overseen by a devoted group of trustees and caretakers who serve not just as administrators, but as stewards of a sacred legacy. These individuals work tirelessly to ensure that the temple functions with grace, discipline, and unwavering devotion, preserving its sanctity for current and future generations.

The trust is composed of respected members of the local community, scholars, spiritual leaders, and volunteers who bring together experience, wisdom, and a deep commitment to the temple's mission. Their responsibilities include organizing and supervising daily worship rituals (aarti, puja, bhog, and prasad distribution), coordinating major festival arrangements, and managing temple resources and donations with complete transparency and accountability.

In addition to religious duties, the trustees are also responsible for maintaining the temple's physical infrastructure—including the sanctum, prayer halls, gardens, and guest facilities—ensuring cleanliness, safety, and a welcoming environment for all visitors. Regular upkeep and renovation projects are undertaken to preserve the architectural beauty and historical integrity of the temple.

The management also plays a key role in fostering community engagement by organizing spiritual discourses, educational events, charity drives, and youth involvement programs. This holistic approach strengthens the temple’s role not just as a place of worship, but as a living, breathing center of culture, service, and spiritual learning.

Their collective vision is guided by the principles of seva (selfless service), tradition, and inclusivity—values that have sustained the temple's spiritual flame through the years.
